About Our Campus

Acton Academy Johnson City is a learner-driven, MSA-accredited K–12 private school in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee, designed to cultivate independence, creativity, and deep, meaningful learning.

Our campus features flexible learning spaces that encourage focus, collaboration, and ownership—where learners are trusted to take responsibility for their work and their growth.

We serve learners at distinct stages of development:

  • Ages 4–6 — Spark Studio
A Montessori-inspired environment that nurtures curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
  • Ages 7–10 — Discovery Studio (Elementary)
Learners build foundational skills while developing independence, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ages 11–14 — Adventure Studio (Middle School)
Learners take on greater ownership, tackle deeper challenges, and begin connecting their learning to real-world purpose.
  • Ages 15–18 — LaunchPad Studio (High School) (planned for 2027)
A program designed to help young people discover their calling and prepare for life beyond school.

Learning on campus is active and purposeful. Guides use Socratic discussions, mastery-based learning, modern technology, and hands-on quests to connect academic growth with real-world application.

Our learners don’t simply complete assignments—they:

  • ask meaningful questions
  • collaborate with peers
  • solve real problems
  • and take ownership of their learning journey

Quest-based learning includes immersive experiences in science, mathematics, history, entrepreneurship, robotics, art, music, theatre, and gardening, with the arts woven naturally into daily life.

This integrated approach supports not only academic growth, but also the development of confidence, character, and leadership.

At Acton Academy Johnson City, young people learn to think critically, solve real-world problems, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
